I found this child’s quilt in the home section of a charity shop. I loved how unique the quilt was as I could already imagine how it would look. One side is patchwork/checked and then the otherside is dinosaurs. I reversed which side of fabric was visible on the cuff and the backs of the sleeves. I brought it home, washed and dried it. I was inspired by the popular trend of a ‘quilt’ jacket/coat. I drafted this pattern after a coat I found on Jil Sander. I didn’t anticipate this project taking as long as it did. It took me over two hours to do the blanket stitch alone on the belt. The fabric was rather thick so getting my needle through the several layers of fabric to do the blanket stitch was not easy.
